My novel, High C at the Sunset
Terrace
, set in 1948 in the jazz clubs
along Indiana Avenue in
Indianapolis, can be ordered
here.
I write for publications including Into Art, Indie-music.com, Business
Connection
, Enjoy!, The (Columbus, Indiana) Republic, The Waverly
(RI) Sun, Bloom, and Our Brown County.  Arts journalism, business
journalism, opinion columns and slice-of-life features.

I play jazz and blues guitar.  My musical life has a few facets.  In some
settings I do standards, bop charts and jump-era blues.  I also make
forays into soul and old, old-school R&B.

I also host Stirring Something Up, a food and dining talk show, on
Saturday mornings at 8 AM on
1010 WCSI-AM.  Recipes, guests,
restaurant reviews, herb gardening, wine, and the cultural implications of
food-related news items.

I also teach jazz history, blues history and rock & roll history at Indiana
University- Purdue University Columbus.

Mainly what I do at this point in my career and life is take a good long
look at the prospects for Western civilization.  I wish I could say I were
more encouraged.
